# Free Solar Pro - Amps and Volts

## Amps, Volts, and Watts

### What are Amps and Volts? How do I get watts from them?

The
definition of *amps* is how many **electrons flow** past a certain point per second. *Volts*, on
the other hand are a measure of how much **force each electron is under**. To
determine an equivalent of any amount of *watts*, volts, or amps, you must know
two of the three parts of the equation.

The mathematical equation to figure out how to convert watts to
amps is:

Amps = Watts/Volts.

To
determine how to convert amps to watts, you use the equation:

Watts = Amps x Volts.

To
determine how to convert watts to volts, you would use the equation:

Volts = Watts/Amps.

To
determine how to convert volts to watts, you would use the equation:

Watts = Amps x Volts.

To
determine how to convert volts to amps with a fixed wattage, you would use the
equation:

Amps = Watts/Volts.

To
determine how to convert amps to volts with a fixed wattage, you would use the
equation:

Volts = Watts/Amps.
