The Magical Kingdom Goes Green
In December, 2007, Disney studios installed an array of solar panels on top of their Sound Stage 2. They also added one on a major walkway at the Walt Disney Studio in Burbank, California.
These solar panels operate in real time-meaning
that they use the power as it is produced.
It isn't stored. It is distributed to various outlets and buildings.
This is a trial.
They will decide after 2 years if they are going to continue with solar power. They want to know if it
is cost-effective, if it works, and if there are any glitches in the system.
