Solar Thermal

Keeping your water and your home warm with solar power

Solar water systems heat water by using the sun's energy. If you live in a low latitude (below 40 degrees), a solar heating system can help to provide you 60-70% of your hot water needs with temperatures of up to 60*C.

Most of these systems use evacuated tube collectors. Glazed flat plate collectors are used less often. These are generally used for heating domestic hot water.

Another type of collector is an unglazed plastic collector, which is usually used for heating swimming pools.

This technology is widely used. 90% of homes in Israel use solar water heating. That's the largest per capita use of any country in the world.

The United States, Canada and Australia mainly use this technology to heat their swimming pools.
